The two work hand and hand to not only clear the name of Collins as more and more misdeeds come out in relation to this story, but also try to make sense of the high stakes world of politics and murder in time for that evening's deadline.
The movie deals with a lot relating to the business end of newspapers while still maintaining that high level thrill ride that by now should be synonymous with these two writers.
I feel that the movie gave a great account of what lengths great reporters will go just to ensure that the information they are passing on to their readers is factual and unbiased.
I was actually very surprised with the quality of acting that was in this highly entertaining film. I am for the most part fascinated with Crowe because I often feel a connection to the characters he portrays. McAdams is so much more than just a beautiful face, especially when you consider that many actresses in her position could not just plug themselves into any genre and be successful.
I will say that the one performance that I was not expecting was that of Affleck. I found him to have actually been believable in this role, unlike many of his other lackluster jobs. (For more evidence please see "Pearl Harbor" or "Jersey Girl." Frankly, he makes me want to puke in those films.)
The film also has great smaller roles that are filled with talented actors such as Robin Wright Penn ("Unbreakable" and "Message in a Bottle"), Jeff Daniels ("Dumb and Dumber" and "The Squid and the Whale"), and last but certainly not least Jason Bateman ("Smokin' Aces" and "Juno"), who make the film much better.
The movie seems complete and will leave you guessing until the end credits roll. Make sure that you check this out because this is a great ramp up to all the summer blockbusters coming out soon.
