Double standards found in many aspects of society

As far as standards go there is one category I loathe to mention but feel I must: the double standard.

Our society is full of them. The straw that broke the proverbial camel's back came when I was watching some random show the other day that highlighted the life of a black teenage girl. She had an extreme dislike for white people, and all of her friends on this reality show called it "reverse racism."

Why on earth would it be called "reverse racism?" I would have to say that if a person of any race has a superiority complex to those of any other race, that should be classified as racism. It's not reverse racism just because the color of the race hater is something other than white. It's racism, pure and simple.

Some of the most racist remarks come from the people who say they are the "advocates" of ending racism. These folks need a rude awakening. Because these people can't seem to see that the majority of folks don't see skin color any more, the review is eight out of 10 days waiting in line at the Dixie Center for the H1N1 flu vaccination. However, each visit will result in them finding out they don't qualify.

Now to continue with my double standard blitz. Why is it when a man hates women, he's a sexist pig, yet when a woman hates men she's an empowered feminist? I have an idea. Why don't we just agree that men have certain traits, and so do women?

I have a newsflash for anyone who hasn't taken basic anatomy: Men and women are different. Hating the opposite sex shouldn't be empowering; it should be wrong.

For all you sexist pigs out there, your review is a full week with your head duct-taped to the unshaven armpit of a bra-burning feminist. And for all feminists out there, your review is to work a 40 hour week making only 70 cents to each dollar a man makes. Oh, wait…

Not offended yet? Please, continue reading.

Religion. Now, I'm no religious scholar, but I was watching a History Channel documentary on "Hell." It was so funny because there was a representative who spoke from almost every major religion. When the Muslim Imam said the Muslim religion was all about peace and love, I almost crapped myself. Who in the Muslim religion is putting the terrorists in check?
