"Everyone bought into what coach [Ken] Schmidt was teaching," Dalanhese said. "We executed really well. The effort was there, we just need to improve our assignments."

Dalanhese said the players who came over from Western Washington University made a huge impact on the team.

"The guys that came from Western came in and earned our respect," Dalanhese said. "Our coaches did a great job with those guys and they came in and contributed to our team."

Even with a mediocre season, the year had a silver lining. Four Red Storm players were named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team All-Stars, while eight more were selected to the second team.

Thompson was the only offensive player to make the first team, but junior defensive lineman Nick Rocco, Bankhead and junior punter Mike Langston were on the first team defense and special teams.

The second team consisted of Vakapuna, Wells, Ence, and junior offensive lineman Kalepo Pene. Beavers and senior cornerback Richard May were named second team defense along with Cragin and Harward.

The season was filled with both highs and lows, but players and coaches alike said they are excited about next season. With twelve players named to the GNAC All-Star team, the future looks bright for the DSC football team.
